His mohairs worn
one eye has gone
he hasnt got a care
When he was made in 1912
his fur was bought to life

Sophie his new owner was the daughter of a lord
and she took him home from Hamleys so patently adored
Played with him for just 5 years till she was nearly eight
Then she lost interest and left him by a grate
Rescued by a nanny and into a toy chest placed
Then off to Christies one day a white van raced
Sold one rainy afternoon as lot One o four
Despite phone bids went , to best bid from the floor
A new home now at nearly fourty
Sarah Jane was oh so proud;
But wasnt Teddy really dirty
Sarah told her dad so loud:
Every father has a daughter
Who`s in every way adored;
and her wish however hazy
just can never be ignored:
Dad took teddy, as he oughter
to an ancient bear restorer;
where our ted was washed and dried
cleaned and tidied then Re-eyed:
Restored to best of bears once more
New coat,new growler and new straw;
the perfect bear for those who hear
the patter of the auctioneer:
Lets hear your bids and see them clear

This lord of all that he surveys;
Displayed now in collectors case
