Simple really . . .

.
People move to Seil because they really like it.

Then they either want to:

a) Freeze it at that moment in time so it never changes (and so become NIMBYs)

or

b) Start changing it because they feel uncomfortable and want to make it more like the place they have come from - without considering whether or not such developments are appropriate

The second lot (traffic lights on the bridge, street lights etc) are just as bad IMO . . . but they aren't really NIMBYs and we don't seem to have an acronym for them.

Anyone like to come up with one?

Don't generalise. Some of us just go with the flow.

A slight exaggeration methinks.

I believe the Community Council is investigating the possiblitly of getting priority signs on the bridge . . . that may help, but I have only heard of three or four wee bumps in the last four years - hardly a major problem.

What other 'improvements' do you think our island needs then, Muckraker?

I cannot believe that someone wants to go through this all over again!!! 7thSeil - go and read old posts if you want to sit at home and grumble, but please don't start antagonising those memers on here that enyoy picking on each other!

Your question is probably rhetorical so lets all mull it over for a minute, write nothing, and MOVE ON.....
