Sorry - - that should read "Seaview"

The chap at Seaview is furious that folk have been criticizing the flag that he was so proud of. He tells me that he’ll redden the nose of the next person to say anything bad towards his show of national pride; he’s no small bloke either!

There's something very romantic about a tattered flag ...

This flag-flying bloke - he sounds a bit aggresive and I'd like to make it clear I was observing and not condemning.

......must have had an upsetting childhood or something!!

A lot of us were wipped with flags in our childhood, maybe this has something to do with it?

In which case you'd think he'd understand the meaning of 'passing places' etc?

Lets not forget the wonderfull way Seil has been portrayed on the box.....Its been on "Sea of souls", "Build a new yorkshire in the country", "Leaving it, yorkshire, behind", "Coast", "Scottish Passport", "Rab. C. Nesbit", "Para Handy", Prada Autumn wear 06/07 and Easdale Island is featured in the Herald Magazine at least once a year....

I don't mean to make another huge issue of it BUT........
......the Saltire flag along at the house at Seaview ; well.......isn't it the wrong colour of blue ??

If anyone else happens to come this way, please have a little look and pass on your opinion. I've been trying to find the correct colour but amn't too sure what to look up on Google!

There is a saltire flying there near the church with an explanation regarding the origin of the flag. The night before the battle, the Scots saw a cross formation of clouds in the sky resembling a St Andrew's cross - the patron Saint. Thus the colours in the flag are supposed to be white to represent the clouds and azure, the colour of the sky towards the end of the day. Sky blue is not the right colour, it is too light. The saltire was later incorporated in the union flag and union jack although the colour of blue there is different. In those flags it is navy blue which is used. The union jack is the version of the union flag used on the jack staff at the front of a ship. This difference of colour between the saltire and the union flags has resulted in some confusion over the correct colour of the Scottish flag - so insist the you get one which is azure and white and not anything else!

I think that the royal Scottish flag is far more impressive than the cross of St Andrew. This, in my view, would be a better national flag for Scotland.

Mary Jane likes Highland Cathedral. Good tune, she says. But, to be honest, I'd like a new anthem commissioned after competition amongst our top composers. .................................................

Highland Cathedral.... nice tune.................but did you know it was composed by two Germans?.......who were into disco music using bagpipes?

And officially it doesn't seem to have many words, being correctly titled (I believe) as "Steh wieder auf". Can you sing that?
