Fisheries project funding

Post by NickB »

.
There's £341,888 available to Argyll and Bute for projects which can "make a difference" to fishing communities across Scotland. It is available for tourism, food and drink, renewable energy, training and environmental protection initiatives.

Balvicar is a fishing community. Any way we could use some of this money?

I would dearly love to see this money given to our dear Queen towards a new yacht. She and her family do come here every now and then. How proud we would all feel to see the yacht making her way down Seil Sound. OK, we'd have to take the bridge down, but that would be a small penalty for such an honour. We could always have some kind of swing bridge.

Obviously we have a royalist in our midst.
It is difficult to take this suggestion seriously, and at a guess I would suggest that it is "tongue in the cheek" and posted to elicit an incensed response, so I will rise to the bait.
To suggest that we knock down a bridge which has served us well for generations, and is a valuable tourist income earner, just so that our Queen (who could buy a palatial yacht out of her own coffers) could make a once in a lifetime journey up the Sound of Seil (presumably with the entire resident population standing on the banks waving our Union Jacks -supplied hopefully by Argyll & Bute) - Briefly -to coin a phrase - Where did you lose your marbles?
There have been some daft suggestions on this website in the past, but I would suggest that Pimpa Nell is trying to get into the Guiness Book of Records with this one.

I'm still looking for them, Jim. They must have gone walkies with your sense of humour.
