Hold on to your hats - severe weather warning

Post by NickB »

.
Current inshore forecast for this area:

For coastal areas up to 12 miles offshore from 0600 UTC Mon 12 Sep until 0600 UTC Tue 13 Sep

24 hour forecast:
Wind: Southerly 6 to gale 8 veering southwesterly 7 to severe gale 9, occasionally storm 10 except in far north.
Sea State: Moderate or rough becoming very rough or high.
Weather: Rain.
Visibility: Moderate or good, occasionally poor.

Don't think we will be seeing our friends who have taken a cottage on Easdale today :droont

Full moon today means high tides, so with Southwesterly winds we might see a bit of flooding on the road outside Balvicar shop round about high tide (6 o'clock) this afternoon

2.5 hours before high tide now and the level already looks really high, 0.7m more to come according to the tidal charts ... this is going to be a seriously high tide !!!
Gonna sit here and watch it come up the garden and hope it stops before it gets to the front door !!!!
