Above is a link to some pictures of the construction of ‘Tiree's 900KW Enercon E44 turbine "Tilley"’, which is the same kind of turbine that is proposed for the Clachan wind farm. See http://antirisdeach.com/latest-stories/ ... ared-open/
Are lorries of this size (see first link) expected to make it over Kilninver bridge, etc, or will the turbines be coming in smaller sections, or what? In any case, the photographs of construction on Tiree give an idea of the processes involved in erecting such turbines. The construction of a road network on the site prior to the erection of the turbines seems to have been generally (but not completely) overlooked in favour of concerns about how the turbines will actually look/sound once they’ve been built. I know that it’s all meant to be about planning issues (I see, for example, that on Tiree only planning concerns were considered against the turbine, but that other considerations were considered in favour) but this seems a convenient excuse for overlooking the existential processes involved prior to the actual construction of the turbines themselves, which will impact not only on Clachan but also on Kilninver (I see from the minutes and proceedings of both Seil and Kilninver and Kilmelford Community Council meetings over the past year or so that Kilninver bridge has been a recurring topic of discussion). Anyway, just wondering...

Re: Clachan Wind Farm: Road Issues, etc.
From the link above it seems the good folk of Tiree ane pretty happy about their new community wind turbine - or am I missing something?
As regards the Kilninver bridge - Why view this as an excuse? - It is surely an opportunity to call for the improvement of the Kilninver road infrastructure?

while much of this type of development brings some improvement in infrastructure most people will not appreciate the full effect till its too late
