Real Names

.
There has been a suggestion from several people that we should insist on real names on Seil Chat.

Your thoughts?

How will you know they are real?

Who exactly are these socalled "several people"?
Name them if they are so keen on dispensing with anonymity and I might then consider agreeing with them.

As for PP's question, I've been trying to figure that one out for years. A bit metaphysical for this time in the morning...

Any chance of you fixing your avatar? We can't see you. The rest of us have posted true likenesses of ourselves so it is only fair that you do the same.

Dear PP and Nick,

On the subject of real names and from one who also uses his own name why do you both have the same 'signature' contained within the first two post on this subject?

Namely

Dear Confused of Clachan,

We wondered what the C stood for

The piratical one is having a jolly jape . . . anyone can put anything in their signature, but at the moment only admins can change user names. Similar games have been played before with people 'borrowing' each others' avatars.

Anyone who would like to post under their real name is welcome to PM me and I will change their user name for them.

The problem with real names is ....well, some real names can be a bit....unfortunate.

For example - this partiucular Times correspondent:
