In the dawn days of man
what did those first humans do
to convey without words
goodbye or who are you.
A nod, or a wink
a soft touch or a kiss
I wish we could see
how they shared their bliss.
As the world bloomed
and tongues came to form
expression exploded
and the word was born.
With the speed of light
to the modern day
an ocean of choice
so many ways to say,
hello my love
and how are you
ciao amore mio
e come stai tu
But like the magpie
those mischievous birds
the little heartstrings
can steal your words.
Babel.

Re: Babel.
"La felicita e come un farfalla"
Means what said this English fellah.
So he tapped into google and soon he did find
A roughish translation that near blew his mind
"it congratultions it and like a butterfly"
Was what our googler did espy.
Lost in translation somewhere I think
The basic sentiment behind the link.
Translate this more properly, no scholar I
But
"Peace is like a Butterfly"
Use a Translation site ; prove to all that
Peace is like a butterfly--Squashed flat .

Re: Babel.
aw, that's brilliant Teddy .
La felicitá is Italian for happiness, pleasure, joy etc.
I (roughly) translated it to Italian from a favourite little saying of mine, I think I have posted it here before in another link.
and it goes:
'Happiness is like a butterfly
the more you chase it
the more it eludes you
but if you turn your attentions to
other things
it will come to rest
softly on your shoulder'.
