Fog
A ghost yacht slips up the sound past
The skeletal pier, its edgy skipper
Peering out for the reef markers.
He imagines imaginary shorelines,
But sticks by his chart.
The gulls may be grounded by the fog’s grey opacity
But if one were to fly, it’d soon break through into sunshine
And, without having to emulate Icarus,
Swoop back seaward through the fogbank to alight on the
Sea’s slick surface, softer, so much softer than
Bruegel’s slam-dunking hero, who splashed down
Unseen, weighted down for evermore
By his own leaden hubris.
Fog.

Re: Fog.
Nice one peter
Teddy
Fog as a problem seems to me
Far too difficult to see
If what you see is what you get
Fog is far too complex--Yet
For there could be, as you`ll see well
Your own version of Heaven ;or of hell
Please yourself :This satisfaction brings
Not by doing exraordinary things
Far less foggy truth to tell
Do ordinary things---But Well
