It has come to my notice that someone has been posting under my name in the Oban Times Forum http://forums.obantimes.co.uk/.

This person is almost certainly a member of this forum. There is no doubt in my mind that the poster is doing this purely to cause trouble and sully my (hopefully) good reputation. As moderator of this forum, I give fair warning that if it should prove to be a member of this forum who is responsible, that poster will be banned from this forum, and their IP address blocked to prevent future registrations.

Trolls will not be tolerated. That is all.

Just had a wee look at the OT website and had a chuckle when a familiar name popped up, is this a sign of times to come ???

Looks like the same has happened to me (and possibly to several others if you look at their member list).

Like the Vicar I suspected Longshanks but a PM to the OT admin got the same response as NickB got; that the IPs are different. (I got the impression that they found it quite amusing)

So, whoever the impersonator is its not funny.

Canusmellthat - is that you on the OT Forum or are you a victim too?

NickB - as above, but I suspect from the tenor of the NickB posts that you are genuine.

Yes NOS it is the genuine Shankers on the OT Forum.
AFAIC its wait and see before becoming too active on it. Really depends what its attitude to Freedom of Speech is. If it becomes overtly politically correct or goes of on one when a poster expresses views it doesn't agree with then I'll stay clear.
