Why don’t we discuss how the last few years of no chat on here have changed our views on whether Scotland should become an independent country?

Still a no-brainer for me, Mona.MonaLott wrote:Why don’t we discuss how the last few years of no chat on here have changed our views on whether Scotland should become an independent country?
What I have noticed is the remarkable number of staunch unionists on other platforms/blogs/forums I occasionally participate in who are coming over. Scotland needs do nothing at the moment, the Johnson government is doing all our work for us.

I agree, Nick and the opinion polls support this view. There are some dangers though - e.g. the negative chaos of Salmond’s forthcoming revelations, the schism of having a second independence party, the fear factor and myth of UK’s broad financial shoulders in funding Covid countermeasures (even though these are only achieved by borrowing). However, the huge contrast in how the Scottish government is guiding us logically, clearly and sensitively through the pandemic compared to the bungling erratic leadership in England plus the folly of imposing a disastrous hard Brexit on Scotland against our will and particularly during the financial and social disruption due to Covid will surely see the present trend towards independence continue and hopefully escalate. Good to see you back, its always good to chat, even with you Nationalist bams. Personally I will wait to see how the present clusterf#ck of Covid, Brexit and Huawei pans out before looking for further upheaval but we are living in interesting times and the pubs are open again so its not all bad. Its also great to see a far more varied selection of smilies than we were allowed on the Slate but surely in the interests of equality the 55% should be allowed a 'no' emoji?
