The clachan bridge

Post by selsy bill »

Hello everybody, my name's Billy. I have recently visited your lovely island on holiday, it was great. I was a little worried about crossing the bridge, in case I hit an oncoming vehicle, so I was very happy to hear from the locals in the pub that there are going to be traffic lights shortly.

Thankyou for a lovely holiday.

Hope to be back soon.

I agree - there are some quite dreadful driving practices on what should be a courteous, single-track affair!

Perhaps the locals should set an example to the tourists who tend to get the blame!

eg. passing places are for allowing vehicles travelling in the opposite direction to pass safely AND / OR allowing vehicles travelling in the same direction, obviously travelling at greater velocity, to overtake.

There's far too much arrogance in this me me me society!!

I think the problem with the bridge is that we should all really just get booster seats so we can see over the top when we reach the top of the hump - or am I just vertically challenged  Just hope the proposed traffic lights (of which I had not heard of before) will be light sensored like the ones at Loch Lomondside....

BTW Bill Selsey of course there are English living here - we have trouble identifying the Scots.  I think the southerners prefer it here - and who wouldn't. Houses for sale, but of course - but hope you have plenty of pennies saved up.

Hey, Moonraker, you could be dicing with death - be very careful :?

Perhaps a solution would be to finally build a high level bridge from Ellenabeich to Easdale Island to link them with the outside world and employ the ex ferrymen on the Atlantic bridge with Stop/Go boards to control the traffic :?:

Also there appears to be a rat like smell eminating from Selsy Bill...

You sir are a cad and a bounder..........or were you sick the day they did spelling at your school?

Again I must agree with moonraker here. The women do tend to be a bit dreamy when they are driving always checking their hair in the mirror etc when they should be watching the road.

Incidentally most bumps are caused by women or dim local Scotch people who think they own the road.

We the English own it. Bought and paid for it we did.

This is fighting talk!

Some lessons - Scotch people (people made of whiskey?) please- the word is Scottish people.

Not only do you appear anti-scottish but obviously have some sexist and chauvinistic views on women. dangerous, very dangerous. Have you seen a SCOTTSIH WOMAN MAD  :x

White Settler, you have a sense of humour or a masochistic streak.
Either that or a death wish....

Spiderman come back we need you....

Always thought there was one under the bridge . . .

Any money wasted on traffic lights would be better put towards fixing some of the holes in the road.

Cod piece does this bring back memories

From 9 April 1940 to 4 May 1945 Denmark was occupied by German forces. Today we still celebrate the liberation every year on 5 May.

The invasion marked the beginning of a 'peaceful occupation'. That means that Germany would respect Denmark's political independence if Denmark did not resist the occupation. The king and the government chose co-operation instead of resistance

The only good Dane to visit these shores was Peter Schmeichel

And you made it clear that as long as your country doesn't have to fight, and you stand back and cower and let other Countries liberate you once again.

Must be one heck of a large hole if it's heated.

Nowhere did I mention the words cowards, but seeing as you have mentioned it, and being a Dane, can you tell me why you have the same Flag as Italy, and that is a white cross on a white background?

Pack it in, you two (ET & CP). You can do better than this. Noone wants to read your recent childish rubbish. Take yourselves off and come back when you've both matured, hopefully soon.

P.S. Look out for the Perseid meteor shower maximum tonight, best at about 2 am, no moon and hopefully no cloud........."catch a falling star and put it in your pocket........... "  8) 8) 8)
