Window scrappage ??
Is anybody else being incessantly bothered by 'phone calls in which an automated voice advertises a "window scrappage scheme" whereby you can scrap your old windows and swap them for new "energy A-rated" ones? We're getting at least one call a day, and on Friday had FOUR calls. T...

Re: Mobile phone signal petition - final result
I agree with the Spider. While it's gratifying to know that Mike Russell is willing to show his support, even if every single person on Seil and Easdale attended a public meeting (likelihood of this - zero) it would in no way reflect the impressive number of signatures on the petition. And what woul...

Re: Community Council elections
According to the SECC web page they can have up to 10 members. So ... no ballot.

Re: Mobile phone signal petition - final result
Fantastic response to the petitions, and an incisive letter, Nick. The suggestion I have would be to include a reminder/wake-up-call to the mobile signal providers that there are 500+ people out there who've signed the petition and could have been making calls to put money into their pockets. Multip...

Re: A mobile signal for Seil
That's all the petitions delivered to Balvicar, Nick. Managed to get the Seafari shop and the Easdale ferry ones as well. BTW, on the Highland Arts one people who've given their address as "Lochs & Glens" or "Shearings" mean that those were the tourist buses they were on. Loo...

Re: A mobile signal for Seil
Have collected petition from Highland Arts with 99 signatures (including at least three coach drivers and one delivery driver), plus the Oyster one now with 49 signatures. Will try and pick up the one from the Seafari shop, but they aren't open much now. Nick, are you happy to do the next bit (whate...

Thought:
Why not send photo, info about petition and info about discussions with Alan Reid to ForArgyll to extend the audience and potential respondents?

Re: A mobile signal for Seil
Nice photo of Wendy! :D Well done Nick! Let's hope that Alan Reid does his stuff and prods arqiva into visiting Seil. Mind you, the arqiva guys will probably be unwilling to venture to Seil because they won't be able to report back to base on their state-of-the-art smartphones ... Petition now lodge...

Re: A mobile signal for Seil
You're quite right snoman. They're doing the easier bits first ... of course ... instead of taking on board the fact that "remote rural areas" (more difficult) are actually the ones in most need. All we ask for is A MAST, for goodness sake!! I just took some old "brick" mobile 'p...

Re: A mobile signal for Seil
Fantastic! :D Pats on the back all round - and especially to Nick for doing the work of getting the petition rolling, co-ordinated and presented. Could Kathy take a photo of you handing it over, Nick? I'll certainly put a petition in Highland Arts, but I'm allergic to Easdale Island and think I've a...

Re: A mobile signal for Seil
Good plan to contact the OT and keep the momentum going. With the on-line and paper sign-ups there should be over 200 signatories now.

Re: A mobile signal for Seil
A quick check of paper petitions reveals: Oyster Bar : 21 signatures Seafari Village Shop : 12 Heritage Centre : 0 ('cos someone had hidden it behind the counter - now on show next to the visitors' book) Alcatraz ferryshed : 0 ('cos ????) I'll collect these up Nick, to save you dashing around, and d...

Re: A mobile signal for Seil
I've put paper petitions in the OB, Seafari/Village Shop, Heritage Centre and braved my life to put one in the Alcatraz ferryshed. Will collect these up prior to Alan Reid's visit ready for presentation. How's the on-line petition going? (Can't access it due to issues that my laptop won't reveal ......

Twelve needed then. Surely we can do that. Come on folks. Sending the link off doesn't take much effort. And if we don't reach the 100 then we prove that we're all blether, no willpower and no action ... and no result, eh?
Let's DO it - or lose it!!!

Re: A mobile signal for Seil
Have we got the 100 yet? (Can't get onto the change.org site to see - browser related issues on laptop which I'm not going anywhere near for now ...) Have sent off the link to everyone I can think of, but if we're not there yet I could probably try and drag a few more people out of the woodwork - as...
