the next day they came to the door with there small army and became very rude and abusive so he had to phone the police as he feared for his own safety :English Flag

.
Moonraker, your posts become more deranged by the month - have you forgotten to take your medication? I am sure that phoning the police is allowable, and I am pretty sure that parties are still allowed in Balvicar. What on earth are you on about?

If you dont like what goes on round here move away, i'm sure one afternoon out of your friends live will not kill them , you and your friend are pathetic, seil ain't a retirement home it's a living community of young and old unfortunetly because of the like's of you and your friend seil sadly lacks young people as they feel that it is being made into a retirement home for the rich. Get a life

bullying will not make me leave this island :English Flag
the reason you may think it is for old people is that we have worked hard all our lives and should be respected not abused by local looms who buy property on seil and think they own the whole island :jack
partys should be done at our local pub the oyster or t n t or our hall not in residential areas whenever you feel like it :English Flag
as for my friends they will not tolerate this activity
i can assure you this matter is in hand and it will be dealt with properly not threatening behaviour in numbers :English Flag

Moonraker you are one of two sad cookies on this island what makes you think you are being bullied ????.
Dear Dear i'm beginning to think you are james Bond since you seem to know so much !!
You may have worked hard all your life but by your antics on this forum leads me to believe that you should have no respect from others especially not on this island.
The people at that party were my friends and i believe them to be all good people and more. Not bullys not thugs and they certainly dont think they own the island. They were not all young in fact there were people there that are retired. Most were born and raised here.
They were having a party that was not on a residental area it was in someones garden and they were celebrating someone's 25th birthday.
I dought very much indeed that your friend was in any danger whatsoever infact it's a laugh to think so, there was no need to call the police and take the whole episode way way way to far.
Who's the local looms that buy property on this island and think they own it
James Bond

Moonraker, Oh how to make friends in a small community.
Why complain about Locals having a get together, Why not make yourself a part of the community and join in?
Everyone there has lived on seil most of their lives and are very much part of the seil community.
i agree with teuchter the people at that party are not thugs.
I was at the party and everyones mood was that of fun and laughter, even after some plonker started to moan about the noise. nobody was fuelled and ready to go as you put it. I had my children with me it was very much a family event. The only one looking for aggro it seems to me is you with your comments
Come on the next party in Balvicar xxxxx

Oh dear!
Well, over the years I'm sure I remember many a night when one neighbour or another had a bit of a 'do' outside. Even in bed I could hear the drunken laughter, the odd shouted outburst and the blaring music. As I tossed and turned trying to sleep, a song I hadn't heard in decades would be played and a raft of happy memories from that era would fill my head giving me a sense of well being. But as the tiredness grew my emotions swung between the anger of frustration I could not sleep and the hint of jealously that others were having such a good time. In the end I realised that other people enjoying themselves gave me a sense of wellbeing too and I drifted gently off to sleep just as the night was ripped asunder by the explosions and din of a 2.00am firework display to finish the night off.
Now I'm not sure the so called Balvicar party was of this type but I am glad to have proof that such gaiety exists there. But any host must consider that the noise and parked cars etc, from a party may overspill outside their own boundaries. Whilst most neighbours will be tolerant once in a while it is easy to overstep the mark (as was the case when, somewhere around midnight, a drunken guest at a neighbour's party crossed our fence to have some fun in the middle of the night with a sheep in our garden and ended up breaking its leg).
Whilst Teuchter may think it was all great fun, clearly Moonraker did not see it that way, and it seems to me that, rather than slagging him off in public, the proper thing to do is for Teuchter to pop round and just say, I'm sorry Moonraker if you thought things got a little out of hand. We had a great party but next time we'll try to show a little more consideration to you.
For some to say sorry is a massive loss of face, but it's just a shortish word of 5 letters, takes a fraction of a second to say, but is a sort of grown up, very easy thing to do, and it keeps everyone happy.

Pentlandpirate you have a go at me when moonraker clearly likes to stir things up by slagging of the locals and people that drink in a certain pub.And arent you slagging me of in public for not being grown up enough to say sorry ?????You may think that i am childish for not saying sorry but this was not my party and if it was i probally would of !!!!.
As for slagging him off in public i am truely sorry moonraker please forgive me
.

APPARENTLY there was a party in Balvicar the other weekend !!!!! Surely not !!!! A Party.....why would anyone want to throw a party and enjoy themselves, socialising with abandon with their friends ???
It seems to me that it's a sad day on the croft when you can't host a party in your own garden in the daytime, without holiday makers complaining !! Maybe Moonraker's friends should have bought their holiday pad on some other more deserted island, if they would rather not be disturbed by the locals.
From my experience Seil used to be a lovely community, full of lovely locals, who sometimes had lovely parties. Sadly now the youth of the island have been forced to move to the big town, because the house prices on Seil just aren't affordable anymore. They have been inflated by incoming money from the South, and now Southern money seems to be the local currency!!
As for the locals being bullies, get a grip !! There must only be a handful left now !!
Also what's with all the over use of the England flags, that's a bit dodgy.....I think you have made it quite obvious where your affiliation lies Moonraker !! After all you chose to move here, surely you should have the courtesy to embrace our local flag
PARTY ON PEOPLE OF SEIL !!!!........In the words of William Wallace, " Every Man Dies, Not Every Man Really Lives "

moonraker, having read some of your comments on the seil forum i have come to the conclusion that you are an incomer, feel free to correct me if i am wrong but i think that maybe all the flags were a clue!
I used to live on seil island myself, the locals were for the most part friendly, respectful and tollerant of each other. The ethos of the island was "live and let live", i dont ever remember the police being called in. The island had a close knit community and it was a good place to live. Sadly i dont think that the same can be said for the life on seil island today, infact your sad comments have led me to believe that there is an us and them attitude towards the few locals that are left living there. Shame on you!
My family still lives on seil, they are some of the few that can say they are born and bred locals.they are civilized people and i am proud of them.
If it is as you say that you and your friends deserve respect, you should remember that respect is earned,it is not a God given right!
I truely believe that you owe the people of seil an apology, you should be ashamed of yourself for your "us and them" mentality and ill feelings toward them.
If you cant handle the heat get out of the kitchen .
Live and let live

because i want to move to seil i have to mingle with the locals i dont think so :English Flag
some ?? of the people at that party were bang out of order with there attidude :jack
no one in this day and age should be confronted by angry people there was far too much noise it was booze fuelled carnage :jack
p.s when you are threatened on your own door you have no choice to phone the police :English Flag
that is bullying and not right even if you are local or not???????

Talking about attitude Moonraker, you may well feel wronged, but it takes two to tango, and your waving the St George's so blatantly is equally as insensitive as them playing loud music without consideration for their neighbours who do not like it. There's got to be tolerance and respect on both sides.

Moonraker, your attitude seens to be one of hostility and animosity.....Why would you want to move to a place where you obviously despise the locals ???
Wormer, my own family are also born and bred Seil islanders, myself included, and I too, am extremely proud of them, and my roots and heritage. It saddens me greatly, when people move in, and look down their noses at the history of the island.

I find it quite laughable that one birthday party to could cause so much fuss!!
It was my sister's birthday party and I can definatley say that it was not booze fuelled carnage, when we got the complaint, we hadn't even listened to one whole song and the majority of us had just arrived off the bus maybe 15mins before ahnd therefore i wouldn't say everyone was ready for agro at all!!
Deeply sorry for all the upset caused but I feel moonraker and your friends are over reacting to the situation and making my friends and family out to be aggressive and rude which I am quite offended by.
Also, the fact that you obviously have nothing better to do with your time than bitch about it on the internet instead of dealing with it in person like any other adult would say a lot.

we do not despise the locals or dislike them in any way.we merely want some peace and quiet at the weekends nothing wrong with that
that racket was deafening it was all outside have it inside . less noise .
and deal with it there and then. then it wont get out of hand
not later after a while to dwell on it full of drink.
threats are not the answer .
i am not racist in anyway.
after all the authorities are on my side
p.s hope your sister had a nice birthday x x
