My wife isnt well she can barely stand
and so to do a meal I`ve planned;
To the kitchen I go to take a look
although in truth I cannot cook:

Truth be told ive never learned
if I touch water it`ll end up burned;
Those cooking skills I havent got
like many old boys I learned them not:

Theres books all over for all to see
how difficult can cooking be;
The kitchens full of pots and pan
all I need now is a plan:

Nigellas book was far too hard

Who can go wrong with Delia Smiff:

"Cooking made easy" that sounds just fine
What works in Delias world --doesnt in mine;
So to revert to original plan
Perhaps not the best but the best that I can;

Neither eggs to omelette make

The cupboards empty so the most
that I could do is beans on toast;
