NOISE---ZZzzzz

Like the noise of a chainsaw its coming to me
Where the chain is loose as it cuts to the tree
An incessant rattle as the blunt Blades,
Hack into the trunk and commit it to hades
Or if the engine is on the blink
and if theres no oil on the chain
This stange cacophony I think
Describes the source of pain.
Perhaps take a lobster to cook on the brink
When grey blue looking as it oughter
Think of the hell it then goes through
As it plunges into boiling water
Is the scream which we hear of so very plain
Escaping air:or excessive pain?
And as we eat it do we think
It would be happier alive and grey not pink?
Have you heard a rabbit scream
A sound so terrifying that
Knowing life is over, cornered by a stoat or cat
A sound so full of bleak despair
That clearly rends the early evening air.
The sound of torment from brake or from tyre
As loosing its compound so fast:
Then a hideous crunch as it hits bridge or tree
A portent of doom for you or for me
Then sirens they cry.
As the ambulance try
To ensure that youve not breathed your last
From screams inside the head you can plainly tell
The addict goes to another place;
but through a private hell:
And as he screams abandoned and alone in mental pride
Who weeps for one more suicide
Theres the roar of the sunami as it sweeps across the Ocean
Silence just before it crashes deadly on the shore
Local man whose very fate
is linked to some tectonic plate
Will live in silent terror thus for evermore.
Hark the sound of politicians as they stand and strutt their stuff
Hear the Jingoistic lions roar
Each wishing to be prouder
they all call a little louder
Urging on the very dogs of war
After warmongers do rattle
You will hear the sound of battle
Raise ordinary mortals to the fight
And though they may be dying
scream in pain,or simply crying
These victims wont be heard-- on any night.
Have we heard it all before
As we unleash the gods of war
The voice of reason silenced and
the shout that might is right:
We learn not from history
Noise experience or pain
And soon in shattering silence
The dove of peace is slain:
So we speak of the horrors of all the above
And I could list oh so many more
But far worse every night
From dusk till early light
Your loved one will just lay there
and snore.
