Stars.
Dead stars light the night,
Kept lit only by distance.
What worlds consider our
Slight lights and signals, and,
If considered at all,
What minds cast confused
Thoughts across our deeds?
Cautious minds would, perhaps,
Quarantine the portion of the sky,
Around the beautiful oceaned planet,
And weave warning myths of the beings
That plague that place;
Those worshippers of the
Twin fires of war and hate.
And the offspring of these minds, made
Curious by the ancient tales of the
Constellation with the tear-blue eye,
May later wonder to each other
If dragons were created thus.
Dead stars light the night,
Kept lit only by distance.
What worlds consider our
Slight lights and signals, and,
If considered at all,
What minds cast confused
Thoughts across our deeds?
Cautious minds would, perhaps,
Quarantine the portion of the sky,
Around the beautiful oceaned planet,
And weave warning myths of the beings
That plague that place;
Those worshippers of the
Twin fires of war and hate.
And the offspring of these minds, made
Curious by the ancient tales of the
Constellation with the tear-blue eye,
May later wonder to each other
If dragons were created thus.
