She sits at her desk and works, another minute passes by. The computer screen stares back, the same as the day before, devoid of all emotion. The soundtrack of the 9-5 fills the air, deadlines and mindless chatter, another day lost forever, in exchange for money. Her fingers engage the cold keyboard, but, her mind has flown so far away. To freedom, to expression and beauty. To a working life undictated.

Thanks P . Was quite pleased, as I haven't really tried writing anything since my school days, was just amusing myself last night and guess this wee arts forum has been some inspiration too.

PS: I wouldn't usually write a poem all bunched up like that.

Was typing from my mobile as I am still 'laptopless' and what I thought was happening on the phone screen didn't quite transfer to to the forum screen as I'd thought it would!
