Historic Seil

Nick, I've been collecting some old photos (mainly black and white) of the area, often copying pictures from old postcards being sold on ebay. It's amazing if you look at them to see the proof of changes over the years, houses sprouting up, trees growing, changes of quarry works on Easdale......even green boxes appearing.
Can we have a gallery for historic pictures of Seil? (I've sent you photos to put in the gallery before, but you haven't put them in. Is it because the one's I took are better than yours? Take a look at my avatar: I'm not a man to be messed with!)

.
PP, I think you just sent me the URL of a Flickr page before and the pics were fairly low-res, but I can't remember. Please feel free to resend.
A Historic Pics album would be great, do by all means send them and I will install them in Gallery. I am also hoping to get a bit of old video of Balvicar in the 60s to put on the site. I thik you have my e-mail address, but if not then PM me for it.

To Pentland Pirate -
Without revealing your true identity, I would be interested in maybe having a reproduction or two from your collection, in next year's Slate Island Calendar.
As my posts are, in no way critical of other members, I am quite happy to append my true name.

Hi Jim,
Actually I think it's high time people on chat sites were a bit more honest, and could admit, "Hey, this is me, and this is what I think!" and be accountable for it. I think we've moved some distance in that direction with a few members using a photo of themselves as an avatar, albeit heavily disguised!
My 'collection is in its infancy and consists, so far, of a number of photos downloaded from the internet, and these probably are not of a good enough resolution for a calendar. However I would urge other members who have such photos to submit them to Nick. Could we include old b&w photos of the islands people too?
I shall tidy up what photos I have and submit what I have to Nick in due course.

Still waiting for these. Your avatar is looking somewhat more than heavily disguised these days.

I'm a transvXXXX ...er a Transformer.
Am still collecting the postcard photos of Seil. the slightly bigger images I have of these are still on my flickr site, but I have many more smaller images taken from old postcards which I have not posted. Short of buying every original postcard that comes up for sale on ebay I have to content myself with copying the smaller images shown in their adverts. However these still have interest value and I promise to email them all to you in due course .
