Did a quick Companies House search; I feel it would be inpolite to reveal the results but, a wee tip, registering for VAT may be a good idea. Finance Directors are a bit against doing business with non VAT registered outfits for accounting and tax reasons. Plus the turnover threshold for VAT registration is pretty paltry these days and I'd guess this registered Ltd Co is well beyond it judging by the material on the corporate website...hundreds of clients etc.

Anyway, good luck with your biz old chap.

Anyone can go onto Companies House and find out what LS did - it's hardly industrial espionage. In our bins we have mousetraps though . . .

Current VAT registration threshold is £67,000 and all that voluntary registration below that threshold means is higher prices for our clients - many of whom are not VAT registered themselves and so cannot reclaim it.

We don't generally work for companies with Finance Directors . . .

Would you care to explain the 'spivs and liars' reference here?

It is possible that if I add them all up the number of sites created over the last twelve years might come to between 100 and 200 rather than over 200, but I suspect it is over 200. Until I have time to go through all our records and count them all up I have changed the wording to read 'over 100' to avoid being accused of spivvery or lying.

My advice however would be to avoid brandishing terms like that on an internet forum for obvious reasons.

I think the spivs and liars are what A Salmond or some other politcian called yon short sellers dauwn sauwf...the ones wot brought capitalism to its knees...... if you believe the bams who phone Geremy Vine.

Nick's site very ably demonstrates he can achieve exactly what 99% of his customers would want: a corporate image for their business, irrespective of their size, VAT registration.

Hasn't Nick got something many of us wish we could have? A job he can choose to do, or not do, at home, a job he can choose to do just as he likes without interference from bosses, memos, and management meetings, a job where he can choose how much he pays himself, a job he can do located in a beautiful location......a job where he has a quality of life that is determined by only himself.

We shouldn't knock it......or the means by which he achieves this lifestyle. If only others showed the same creativity it would go a long way to helping solve the problems that historically threaten the viability of this community.

One or two of you seem to have formed the impression that my post was having a dig at my good friend NickMcB. Far from it; a re-read will show that I was making constructive comments.
NickMcB: my reference to spivs and liars was most certainly not aimed at you! Seventh got it right; I was merely referencing Emperor Alex and his outburst on shortsellers and speculators, my wish is that you show them how to make money honestly.

More constructive help for you then Mr Bee.....probably best if you, or your accountant, checked in with Companies House. Someone appears to have stoled your "Webcraft" name as it is currently registered to an outfit operating out of Worcester in England! Worse, someonelse has hijacked your company registration number; Co Ho has it applying to a big City outfit called Vestey Brothers !!!
Hope that info is helpful and that you manage to sort it.

I'm surprised you forgot to say Happy Birthday to Nick McB on 11th September

Furthermore you only looked up Webcraft Ltd and not Webcraft UK Ltd which is clearly shown up under SC166427 at an address in Balvicar.

You have to recognise the difference between Scottish companies and English ones, and the very crafty fact that this is Webcraft UK Ltd, meaning that it has international status.

Great that this forum is so supportive of our local entrepreneurs and that you were prepared to conduct further research in order to protect/clarify McB's commercial interests.......
Also most gratifying to know that the Ltd Co has international status. This brings yet more prestige to our lovely island.
Sorry I didn't wish him Happy Birthday on the 11th. Most remiss of me. I can only plead ignorance but it is now in my diary for next year. I do, though, doff my cap to him when I pass his car. Guess you touch your forelock.
