In the sense that the island is almost inaccessible to human beings, I’d say Seil is a bad contender to be the new Pitcairn…In the sense that the island is populated by a bunch of mutineers and lowlifes trying to make a new start, I'd say Seil is a good contender to be the new Pitcairn…

Just Easdale and Seil? The whole area appears to be swarming with new faces, gone are the days when you could safely say you knew/trusted your neighbours.

Reasons why Seil/Easdale may be the new Pitcairn:
they are islands
people live on them
ships pass in the night - sometimes stopping to trade

and the reasons why not:
there are no naturally growing bananas
not enough quad bikes (main form of transport on Pitcairn)
anyone can come - to stay on Pitcairn you must have approval from their council - this can take up to a year to get/not get, as the postal service is very erratic... (actually, that sounds familiar...)

and another interesting fact: empty houses on Pitcairn are left to fall apart, as they are deemed to always belong to the original owner... so no one else would dream of moving in - they just build a new one...

What an absolutely futile and fruitless question. I take it, 7th, you've just done an essay on Pitcairn for your Higher Geography examination and are dying to share your knowledge with the rest of us ??

actually, I did do Higher geography (albeit 33 years ago), and to my disdain each answer had to be an essay. Simple answers to questions like "Everest" for "Which is the highest mountain in the world?" were slapped down as being insufficient. An essay on why Everest is the highest had to support your answer.

Whatever happened to answering important questions like, " Is Israel part of Europe or part of another continent? Discuss with specific arguments regarding European football, Eurovision and that some Americans think it is in South America"
