ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES FORUM
No-one is using the recycling forum at all . . . but several of the threads on here have been on environmental issues - windfarms, bridges, fishing, National Park, wildlife crime - to name just a few.
I am proposing to scrap the (unused) Recycling forum and replace it with a broader Environmental Issues forum.
Let me know what you think.

Nick, I fear that taking away environmental issues from the Seil Chat forum will just fragment and marginalise this forum, which, in my view, should be as wide-ranging as possible. Anyway, recycling is such a small, even minor, aspect of the environment (and hence deserving a specialised forum) that it really doesn't seem a sensible change to me...

Erm . . .
Not really a change Spiderman . . . there has been a Recycling Forum on this board for three and a half years now, set up at the request of a local group. They don't use it and apparently don't even want to discuss its use. In over three years there have been just 5 posts - that is a post every nine months on average!it really doesn't seem a sensible change to me
I had thought to retain it but broaden the scope. Lots of the posts on here are on environmental issues. I could have - and in retrospect probably should have - quietly removed it, but thought that some - perhaps its instigators - might mourn its passing.
It is too easy for forum admins to be accused of heavy-handedness, particularly in a small community like this . . . but unless there is a more spirited response one way or the other the Recycling forum is going to be deleted to free up some screen real estate!
