Moonbottom, I saw you siting on a white bus heading to lochgilped. Who were the two nice gentlemen on either side of you?
I do agree that folk need to lighten up on this forum. However, a little bit of poison every day can inure one to the world.

why edit that post just having a bit of crack .surely no one takes this forum seriously
I don't expect to be deleting or editing posts very often, but some people on here are a bit more sensitive than thee and me, Moonraker . .
Personally I hope that the forum will be good craik and a good source of entertainment, but I also hope it will be used to discuss serious issues affecting our community from time to time . . . . and sometimes the two will mix happily, sometimes they won't.

OK, Nick B, so please give us some input on
your idea of a serious topic (instead of playing the God-like neutral moderator all the time). Give us your "craik" - what matters to you? Let's be havin' you, sunshine!! Don't be shy, come out from behind the settee and start a serious string.......
Must off to the Bugle Office - be glad that Captain Octopus doesn't know about Seil (but I have heard that his baldy nephew, Seaman Squid, drives an open-top bus somewhere...........
KAPOWWWW...
Serious stuff . . .

Spidey,
I don't need to start any serious threads - at least a couple are already going. As you pointed out, the 'National Conversation' thread has already generated over 50 posts. I may even post a wee anecdote there myself soon . . .
I would like to see more relevant input into the fishing thread. and perhaps a serious thread on the merits / demerits of the National Park.
What does disappoint me a little is the lack of serious discussion on purely local issues. Access and planning are the two that perhaps annoy me the most.
On issue 1, How come at least two landowners on Seil appear to be getting away with fencing off the foreshore to below the HW mark?
On issue 2, more generally, planners appear to have godlike powers over peoples' lives , but have no qualifications in architecture or any other relevant discipline, and apparently no aesthetic sensibilities either. They do however obviously have pals and cronies. Should they all be shot? I believe there is a case.
Another possible topic is the issue of alleged wildlife crime on Seil. Where did the badgers go and why have I not seen an otter for so long? Hints and mutterings are heard, but no-one says anything tangible. Is it happening or not? Someone must know, and maybe they have internet access . . .
I am not, however, prepared to start a thread on any of these subjects as as I am a nice safe neutral moderator type of person and anyway everyone might ignore it and post on the Seil Flag thread instead . . . or even worse I might have to use the Ignore button on someone . . .
Provided you have set your email address to not be visible your identity is hidden on this forum and anyone should feel free to comment on any subject.
Over to someone else who is not running a forum with their identity clearly visible . . .

Grassman ; both you and Usmell are showing your complete ineptitude and lack of grasp of geography LOCH GILP HEAD - the head of Loch Gilp - the top (head) of the loch known as Gilp.
It's descended from the Scottish Gaelic language. I would have thought that Usmell, who apparently is local to the point of having 15 generations in the cemetry, would have known that!!!!

Too old and too clean living for that I'm afraid. In fact, probably the naughtiest thing I've ever done has been to "win" a speeding ticket!
