Tai Chi is that standing on one leg and waving thing, I think, sort of karate for dealing with really slow invisible enemies, but what exactly is a qi gong? If we're going to learn to qi gong each other, we really need to know what it is first, if only for safety's sake. Do you need a licence? Does it hurt? Do we need tights? Is it deemed sinful at all, by anyone, at all? We need to know.

Hi Herby love your discription of Tai chi
Before i get on to Qi gong(chi kung) the tai chi is the exercise form of tai chi not the martial arts version its more for health than combat! Its also great for improving your golf! qi gong or chi kung basically means energy work it is a bit more static than Tai chi and is for moving chi and building it up within the body. Chi being life force energy that flows through the body in meridians, the same meridians that are used in accupuncture! Basically the better your flow of chi and the more chi in the body the better your health. Any more queeries herby let me know.

Reiki for cats thats a good one . ignorance is bliss is it not. I do Reiki healing and yes it is the same energy used but a totally different concept! It is a generic form of Tai Chi called Tai Chi fit put together by a Tai Chi Instructor in England(Ian Fox). Basically he has put together a form he believes will give the most health benefits to health and fitness. Free will is a given so if you fancy it come if not then don't. But don't be led by the ignorant as that as not proved to be of much value in the past. Especially when they look like badgers LOL

Obviously a lot more info. is required before we all start "carrying the tiger to mountain", "waving hands as clouds", "single whipping" (steady on now!), "turning to sweep lotus", "grasping bird's tail" etc. etc...

Well what a synical lot you are
If ya want snake oil eric Im sure I can find ya some. I like the idea of witchdoctor sevenseil, but what that as to do with Chi is beyond me, and Dr Hannah can sleep well in is bed Im not ready to start pointing the bone yet
Spiderman I wouldn't be fool enough to think of anyone as innocent and incase ya didn't read my other post properly I have said it is not a traditional form.
Minimum you seem to already have some tai chi experience you forgot to mention pinning the tail on the donkey
I get the feeling ya all think Im trying to pull the wool over your eyes. I would call that projection my friends so take a deep look at yourselves and look at which part of yourself you don't trust!
All I can tell you is I enjoy the form very much, and feel I get great benefits from it. Why not give it a try, no ones asking for some big commitment boys just suck it and see! I promise to hold you hand if if you are a little scared!
