Whats all the hulabaloo about Seil Sound just now, have heard many rumours about musselmen and whalebotherers,...whats the scoop?

Not sure exactly what you're referring to, unless you mean the improvements to the sewerage system up at Clachan. The men with the blue van parked in the middle of the bushes apparently have mussels along the shore there - but I think that any "processing" of waste can only help them ?? :?

:) :) yep, I found 7th's entry a bit unclear too. But if it is about the possible new sewage treatment plant for Balvicar and Clachan, then let's welcome it and hope it eventually extends to all other areas of the island, e.g. Ellenabeich, T&T area etc. Great that the Scottish Executive is funding the whole thing, even within folks' own homes/gardens. :) :) Should clean up the waters (what about the folk crapping off their yachts?) and, with new water mains, bring us into the 20th century. Maybe we can even get to have a mobile phone signal. That would help us get into the 21st century! And a decent road would be good too, especially for you folk who can't fly through the air on a web! :) :)  8) 8)

Oh come on . . .

what about the folk crapping off their yachts?

Just how big a problem do you think this is in the waters round Seil? Maybe in Puilladobhran when it is crowded, but otherwise??

Youst crapping from your yachtboats should be not a problem with six knots of tides in your Clachan sound.

:?: :?: :?:    I'd guess it's a secondary problem right now but, in anchorages like Puilladobhran, Seil Sound & Balvicar Bay, it's something that might reasonably discourage you from eating the highly localised seafood or from accidentally swallowing the seawater during the yachty season. However, for all these places (and as it is worldwide), the biggest problem is the raw sewage discharged from a large number of houses and here even from commercial hostelries. It will be a step forward to eliminate the discharges from land - only after that will it be worth worrying about the crap from boats. The sad fact is that globally the enclosed coastal seas are a major source of illness to those who swim in them or eat a lot of their most exposed products. So lets welcome these improvements on Seil even if they involve more activities of the Green Goblin and his trusty numpties.

Obviously means nothing to people that haven't recieved a petition request, I have and I've sooo signed it! (mental note, they're not from north Seil)

The scoop you're enquiring about is to do with evil plans being drawn up even as you read! I can't really say more for fear of revealing my identity but look out on Friday and you just might see them doing their dastardly business!

It's more of a poop scoop I'm sorry, have you seen that film in which the knight plays chess with death?

Well, I haven't a clue what any of you are talking about, but you sound as if everyone's going to squat by the side of the road for the loo and then go round with shovels!

Friday should be interesting in that case :?

Muessell men...

Yachty's are the worst form of sceptic tank, they let out their bilges and willy nillys too, unclean, unclean. They land themselves on reefs and then toodle hoo half cut from the pub.

Cod Piece - I am to be respecting Nick B's and I am to be trying to be not racist but I am Norse not dansk - ya! ....and you Danes settled the englanders - our kings ruled these islands......but I am not to be thinking you are to be a bacon munching surrender monkey that is to be not right.

But maybe us brother scandanavians can unite to fight the evil Nimby menace and the twisted Nimby king who are hell bent on bringing forth Ragnarock to this isle with their sneaking, treecuttingdowninthemiddleofthenight, dumpingshit, skulking, committeehijacking, grassingneighbourstocouncil, petitionsigning, badmouthing, cantparkhere, cantselleggs, howmanyboatsdoyouneedanyway, cantsellveg, amenitylandmyarse behaviour

Then we can be having some rotted shark and aquavit at the T&T and laughing about it - ya?

Why is it to be that we are to be lerning english - why you british tommies are not to be learning another language? The map of the world is to be not pink anymore!

I am away to be hunting elk for a few days - maybe you are to be wanting to try some on Seil (which we vikings named) - it is better much than those puddings og yorkshire, ya?

I notice that although you are hunting elk your favourite animal is the spider . . .

Maybe you and Spidey have more in common than at first appears. :)

sorry, cod piece and erik, I did not intend to sound racist - I am anything but. However, I was merely referring to your posting in a foreign tongue that we do not understand - I actually like your attempts at the english language - which are very good and totallyunderstandable. And I agree, we are very lazy us english-spoken people - we should attempt other languages- however, most of us have yet to master our mother tongue.

c'est la vie!
