Anyone read the Oban Times this week 'bout the Luing ferry.
Get the calculator out and figure out how much you and I are paying for the replacement service!
Isn't it strange that you never see invitations to tender advertised for this 'golden goose'

Just think how much the A & B council tax payer is contributing to keep both islands of Luing & Easdale connected to the mainland with ferry services. Can anyone work out how much of the A & B coffers each island resident is receiving in order to provide them with public (ferry) transport?

Harbour Seil - I don't want to sound too petty, but it bewilders me that you should start a new "subject" title when one already exists!!(Luing Ferry)
I know you can be quite a cantankerous chap from what I have read from you on this forum, but it is also worthy of note, from what you said latterly, that you are a proud tax-payer; something that should be applauded!
Where would the rest of us be without the army of folks who actually go out and earn, in order to pay tax that it then distributed to the needy in our communities?
3 cheers for the whiskery mammal!

Must admit I tend to agree with Moonraker.
We English bring plenty of money into your community you should at least give us a break. If it were not for us you guys would still be digging for slate.

How long have you been in Scotland Moonraker
- I am assuming by the spelling/ grammatical errors that you were educated in England. Or maybe you are just lazy.

And as for you English Local - there is no such thing as an English Local - white settler may be more appropriate - you are welcome here however, just watch the bitchiness!!!!
As for the 'digging for slate' shame we don't still do it - maybe some of the roofs down south would stay on if we did.
I'll huff and puff and blow your house down.
