The formal consultation by the Scottish Executive regarding the proposed Marine National Park has begun.
See <http://www.scotland.gov.uk/News/Release ... 0/10135242> for the consulation paper. At some point over the next 4 weeks there will be a 'roadshow' coming round with all singing and dancing displays to entice you to become a National Park resident.
There is no indication on the ScotExec. website as to when this is coming to the local area, but I assume it will be advertised locally - ensure you make your voices heard either by visiting or posting a response on the website.
Comically, watch the wee video with Ross Finnie, environment minister (if you have broadband) and see how, using classic politician speak, he manages to tell you that regardless of what people say during the consultation, they'll get a national park anyway. Makes you feel a little cynical about what consultation really means.

By the way, the original Ross Finnie 'executive production' film has been taken off the page (probably because he was sounding ridiculous) and replaced with an even more cringing 'Argyll' short feature with lots of pretty helicopter shots telling us how important everything is.
Bet the cost of the chopper used up a few folks hard earned tax £££!! (and probably scared a few sea eagles - my, the irony is delightful)
