Corbyn storms it

Jeremy Corbyn is elected leader of the Labour party with 59.5% - outright victory in the first round.

I can't help thinking this is a bit of a challenge for the SNP - Corbyn is almost bound to revive Labour fortunes in Scotland to some extent.

But I am also pleased - it is a return in England to the conviction politics we have seen in Scotland over the last three years.

Hopefully this will be the end of 'New Labour' and 'Spin', heralding the return of an effective 'Left' who can counter the predominately right wing stance of the all the other parties.
Though Corbyn will have to endure much scheming by new labour diehards to unseat him, he has obviously managed to engage a faction of the electorate that had thought left wing politics was dead in the UK.
These people have been joining up in droves to vote for him so we can assume that they will also vote Labour in any election where Corbyn is Leader-and yes, this could apply to Scotland.
But it probably won't since it would seem that more than 50% of Scots would now vote 'Yes' in a 2nd referendum, if so, then they will not vote Labour as only the SNP offer independence.
But good luck to the man, he's like a breath of fresh air.
