Hi
I just tried clicking on the Seil Skiff banner link at the top of the page and was taken to a pornographic website! Could you check if the link has been compromised Nick?!

Hi Ray,

The link is still pointing to the correct URL - http://www.seilskiff.org.uk - in my browser - and I have tried it in Chrome and Firefox as well.

Sounds like it might be a problem with your computer - I suggest you run virus and malware scans.

Hi Ray,

Someone else had this problem, but with the skiff's facebook page. Both are ok on my Mac with Chrome/Firefox etc.

If the problem isn't sorted for you, please ring me on 545 about potential outings - this weekend isn't looking too good but you never know! It will be an early start both days (tide).

Sue

Thanks for the replies. I don't have the problem on my main computer, just on the Kindle. Have scanned it and it seems clean.
Yes Sue we'd love to get out again! Maybe Saturday, weather permitting of course!

I see the same problem on my android tablet as well, and only for the seil skiff site. I have not seen the problem on other sites. I guess the site is somehow hacked to redirect only from mobile devices ?

Yes Alice, you are right. The .htaccess file was hacked to redirect, but only for a list of Android mobile devices.

I've fixed it and also run a malware scan on the entire site. I found a backdoor in the Newsletter plug-in. As this has not been used I have deleted it. I have then manually updated Wordpress to the latest version and updated all the plugins.

Not the way I had planned to spend my evening :sigh

I have also just deleted about 500 spam signups for the site.

It would be helpful if one of the other admins could prune these on a regular basis - say once a week.
