Last chance to convert your old account to your real name

As soon as I can get round to it I intend to deactivate all the old accounts on this forum.

This will not remove any posts from the historic record, but it will prevent posters attempting to post under their old account names.

Once I have done this I will reinstate the PM system for the benefit of currently active members.

Turns out there is no quick way of bulk de-activating accounts, so I have been going through the membership list manually deactivating the ones I remember as real troublemakers.

The sad thing is, they were only a handful - but they successfully wrecked this forum for everyone else by deciding to use it as a platform to attack other forum users, primarily me. That might have been acceptable on big forums where the admins and mods are an anonymous, but it simply isn't acceptable in a small local community like this where everyone knows who I am.

It was a bit of a trip down memory lane - I made the first post on here in December 2003.

Respect to all of you who have the courage to post under your real names. I hope that more people will sign up in due course.
