It is some considerable time since this piece was posted on the Seil website.
Having a spare moment recently, I gave it a whirl.
Now personally I have nothing against anyone who seeks fame and fortune by strumming a guitar, belting out unintelligible lyrics (repetitiously), and having strobe lights to add a pseudo dramatic effect, I feel that it's just not my scene - nothing personal against Ray Loughlin - he's going with the flow.
In the interests of putting forward a theory for consideration, could I suggest that the type of music that appeals to us throughout our life, is that which we are subjected to during our adolescent and early adult years. Within this range we have our favourite performers and also ran's.
Here we are talking popular music - I have to make an exception for classical music which has devotees who transcend the whole gamut of age - lucky them, their available repertoire is timeless, but personally I am not one of their number.
A final thought - music is an audio experience - but lately it seems to have been taken over by theatrical visual effects - to enhance it's mediocrity?
