Well what cai I say - ingenuity 11/10 !!!

I can honestly say I had a huge smile on my my face going over the bridge on Monday - Brill !!

Clearly it created a :stir (HUGE)

However ............ !

As I understand the bridge is a Heritage ''A listed ' structure and does that create a 'consent issue ' ?

I'm assuming it was a 'one off '?

Snoman Still VERY undecided and having travelled up from the smog today I can only say that the only YES Banners I saw was when I arrived on Seil .......!!!

Maybe you guys on the island are ahead of the game? - it will be interesting to see what happens over the next couple of months

Good luck !!

It was a 'one-off' to coincide with the public meeting in the hall on Monday evening.

The sign was hung with rope attached to existing protrusions on the bridge, so there was no question of damaging the bridge in any way.

Heading for 600 'likes' now, and someone told me we were in the Daily Wail today.

It's on a need to know basis Jim.

So - who needs to know - apart from yourself?

OK- so you are in some secret society, along with your YES confederates who understand your cryptic messages.
But to get anywhere if you want to disseminate your message to a wider public (in the hope of a sympathetic ear) you will have to stop being so negative in your replies.

Not much of a 'wider audience' on Seil Chat these days as most are too cowardly to post under their own names.

This is probably drifting off topic, but you yourself introduced the proper name disclosure and at the time it was a fair bet that the contributions from anonymous posters would dry up - and this has proved to be the case.
Although you and some of your cohorts have been brave enough to stick your head above the parapet with your YES signs for public display, the majority of the islanders here, have no wish to make a public declaration of their intentions, come September.
This is a reticence which may be peculiar to a lot of Scots who do not like to have their views on religion, politics, sex, income, or any other private matter widely disseminated to all and sundry.
Conversely, when one reaches a certain age, the approval or otherwise of one's views ceases to have any real import on one's life, and that is the reason why, in this case, I have taken up the cudgels to challenge some of the more controversial outpourings from your good self.

It seems a bit ironic to worry about the effect of hanging a sign off the bridge when there's an endless stream of coaches, lorries and camper vans driving across it every day!
