While sipping Pimms at the T&T ,I realised it had been at least two weeks since i heard any news about what the 13th Duke of Argyll has been up to,
Usualy the Oban Times does such a good job of keeping me updated on the Dukes movements.

Whether he has been leading the national team to victory at the World cup of Elephant Shinty (a great peoples game played regularly on the playing fields of Argyll, very cheap to take up I hear).

Or he has decided to hunt for Spanish gold on Mull(another popular past time amongst the locals),or even when Oban has its games and he marches through the town in full Highland regalia delightfully holding up traffic on a Thursday while all his loyal subjects are happily working.

Whats he been up to this week? i can't wait for the next edition of the Oban Times to tell me!!!

Hoy - Hoy!

As Seil's first computer literate elephant it is my delight to update you on the whereabouts of our delightful duke.

Last Tuesday he took me in his private helicopter to an exclusive Stewarts Cream of the Barley sponsored polo match at Glen Miller. After alighting, and having the customary girdle stapled on, we set out, fortified by the thought of bringing back the trophy, and 350 gallons of duty free nectar of the gods.

Unfortunately, after a dubious tackle from Lord Thurso (the sun briefly having been blocked by his large 'tache) we found ourselves back in the helicopter, bruised but unbowed, returning to dear old Inveraray.

As John Splendid said himself when we alighted ' Tuts, tuts dear boys'

Until the next time - chin-chin old fruit

Hats off to the Oban times this week, bringing us not 1 but 2 highly informative storys about our dear and beloved Duke......not just his greatness but both of his fantastic nay wonderfull offspring, and of course his fragrant and perpetual wife,or "the peoples duchess" as I like to call her.

And of course we can all expect an invite to the Ball,I myself have my dance card already full, I am hoping to dance with the Duke himself and of course his best chum McCaig. Our esteemed columnist from the Oban Times.Hopefully David Cameron will come...I am sure he would enjoy the cycle up from London, or perhaps his wonderfullness the Duke would give him a ride on one of his specialy trained Shinty Elephants.

I cant wait to quaff Goldshlager from a dainty daughter of the land's slipper before waving all my freinds off after the festivitys. Hopefully they will all make home without alchohol making the Landy inopperatable.Any way I must flay some of my house staff as they have been unable to finish my ball gown in time.........
