Well, to be fair, I have not been in for a good while. When I used to go I found the bar staff very surly and unfriendly. Won't mention any names obviously. I'm talking about the last 6 or7 years.

Not sure who you mean, but the current crop of bar staff are all friendly and helpful.
Maybe you should consider dropping in at some point over the festive season . . .
