Summer sewage tankers

Does anyone know what the several weeks of tankers pumping at the sewage works is all about? Non-stop pumping, droning noise, bad smells, tanker traffic etc, all beautifully timed for peak tourist season. It must be particularly annoying for those living nearby. It's as if all the island's sewage is just going straight into the tankers! Anyone understand what's really happening?

I thought they were putting it in. Are they now taking it out again?

.
Sometines they give, sometimes they take.

Remember Mona, you were all for this wonderful scheme - even when myself and others said it wouldn't work. Just another big FAIL by Scottish Water.

Hi Mona

Wouldn't worry too much about 'Oor Nick's ' comments !!

After almost four years he is still bouncing on this issue (methinks) !!!

I seem to remember he replied to a letter I sent to OT in December 2008 in which he disagreed with my concerns about whether 'The Isle of Seil would ever be the same again '

Not to mention some posts on forum around 18/12/2008 !!

Ignoring Nick's ungallant goading of a simple lass to whom he's just recently awarded a yellow card, I am still very much in favour of us having an efficiently working communal modern sewage system. All I'd like to know is what's going on right now with all these tankers and cranes? Is it a necessary step in getting the works operating efficiently or is evidence that it will never work? Noone seems to know!

Bring back the septic tanks and congratulations to those who chose not to sign up to the scheme. Unfortuatnely everyone is suffering from what now seems to be an unrealistic idea for improvement to the waste water system.
