Just thought i`d mention one of Seils sons who passed away on Sunday i believe.

Its difficult to think of the island without Finlay and he has taken so much history with him i feel very sad about it if anyone hears about funeral arrangements please let us all know.

Nice to see such a big turn out at the graveside.

Yes, good to see. Without Finlay, the island will be less fun and less colourful. And I'm referring to much more than just his last work achievement, the yellow-painting opposite the T & T.

Yes indeed. It was a grand turnout.
Finlay would have been well chuffed (in his own inimitable way).

I came over from Australia and visited my Uncle Finlay in Sept 2011.

we spent some time together and walked along the shore at Easdale from the old Manse where my great grandfather the Rev Donald Ferguson once lived. There we found a good size piece of slate for my grandparents [Finlays parents] grave in Balvicar. [Rachael and John Morrison]. Later we then called around to see one of his mates and borrow a hammer drill so we could fix their name plaque onto the slate. The slate was placed on their grave site the next day.

There were tears in his eyes as thanked me for helping him complete a task long over due.

I know he was regarded on the Isle as a real character and had his own demons, but spending a couple of days with him and having a few beers at his beloved TnT was a memory I'll remember forever.

RIP Uncle Finlay.
