Hey Nick !
Haven't seen much of (my) white stuff this winter (yet!!)
Should we not have a bit of 'wind' on the website ?

Ps if the answer is:There is already too much on the forum
then that is not an acceptable response !

Nooo! Keep the snow for a wee while yet. Sadly this has been a 'damp squib' of a winter. More snow would be nice..

.
That's one for snow and one against - so we'll keep it for a wee while yet.
Hope you all had a great Burns night - we had the traditional fare with the traditional accompaniment, then I discovered that Mackies ice cream with Black Bottle poured over it is rather fine.

Anybody know the difference between the 'real' snowman and a snow woman
I vote to stop the snow. They look like the floaters in my eyes!!

Can we keep the snow at least until the end of January? I always hope each Season is typical and this winter has not matched up to the last two, very little frost and snow. Soon be Spring..then later..midges, tourists, unbearable heat etc., I for one like Nicks 'snow'...but then I'm easily pleased

Hey Nick!
Am I right in thinking it has stopped snowing on the website ?

Now I believe you about global warming on the island !!!
Cheers

Aye, cyberspring is early this year - though we have yet to move back to the Summer background on the main section of the site.

Very good !
But seriously I have been involved in the skiing industry for the last 30 years and there has often been 'a sting in the the tail' to our winter
I believe it used to be called 'the lambing blizzards' ! ie mid March
Big dumps of the white stuff but short lived
Perhaps not this year - I have removed the chains and shovel from the car already - watch out for the good deals on de icer shovels sledges etc over the next few weeks in Tesco's however !

Aye, in Aberdeenshire they call it the 'teuchat storm'. (Teuchat is Doric for a lapwing - refers to a storm at the time the teuchats are nesting - which is around lambing time in the NE). My sister in law and her husband farm at over 1,000 feet on Deeside, and they often have a hard time with snow at the lambing.
Maybe we'll have a teuchat storm on SeilChat as well
