Since we upgraded our Internet Explorer browser Google has taken on a life of its own. I can't see anywhere to set preferences, so can anyone PLEASE tell me how to stop it doing its infuriating auto-complete and auto-search trick? Not only does it slow everything down, but it's coming up with loads of stuff that's nowhere related to what I'm actually looking for.

Failing that, can anyone suggest a good search engine to use?
