Various posters have been dotted about, advertising the next SECC meeting at differing dates, times and venues. It turns out that the next meeting is actually at 7pm on Tuesday 27th September in Seil Island Hall.

Thanks Beetlejuice. I put Easdale island Hall on the front page of the main site and on the Community Council page because that is what it says in the Seilachan and no-one from the CC has been in touch to tell me any different. I think this is because they do not have a secretary at the moment. You will have noticed that there are no minutes for the July meeting yet either.
In the light of your info I have changed the details on the site. Anyone who sees incorrect information anywhere on
seil.oban.ws or who has any community information or a business directory entry they would like to see added should contact me by PM, e-mail or personally or post it on here and I will get onto it ASAP.

Can I add my tuppenceworth, as editor of the Seileachan.
At the July meeting the acting secretary was on holiday.
So no report on the meeting was forthcoming.
Eventually I was passed some notes (minuites?)which a committee member had taken. These were given to me by the chairman with certain sections highlighted, as to what was considered important.
From this I compiled the Seileachan entry for August.
In the notes which I received it did state categorically that the next meeting would indeed be on Tuesday 27th September. The venue was given as Easdale Island Hall and starting time as 7.30 (use 7.15 ferry).
Well maybe something has come along to neccessitate a change in venue and time, but last minute changes only intimated by posters which are not universally noticed. does not make for good customer relations.

The reason reported to me for the change in venue was that the Easdale hall would still be untidy after the Stone Skimming do - 48 hours later !!!!
Surely someone somewhere will give them a grant to clean the hall after world championship events
