Random distribution?

Not all the delays to our mail are due to the weather. A large helping of idiocy also plays its part.
Alistair at the Stores says that a backlog of mail for Seil, Easdale and Luing that had finally made it as far as Oban was helpfully loaded into a van bound for Tiree, where it languished for several days before it was put onto the ferry back to Oban.
And there's more ...
On 6th Dec I ordered some DVDs from Amazon. On the 8th the parcel was logged at the distribution centre at Gourock. (Oh good, it's on its way!) By this morning I'm wondering where it's got to, so check on Amazon and find that some Royal Mail pea-brain at Gourock has sent it back down south to the distribution centre in bl**dy WARRINGTON - 300 miles away - from whence it will have to work its way up here again on motorways clogged with snow, jack-knifed lorries and miles of tailbacks.
Merry Christmas, Royal Mail.
