.
There was a meeting at Kilmory today to discuss the school closures. ForArgyll blogged the whole meeting live, from inside the council chamber until asked to leave then from outside. The post has produced 115 comments so far. It's a remarkable illustration of the way the new media can empower ordinary people and make them feel part of the process.

I wonder how the three out of four councillors who represent Luing that voted for the closures will fair in the next election?

The last two posts have moved into a political arena, and no doubt the two protagonists have their axe to grind.
However, there is one point which I would like further insight into -
Here on Seil we have an elected councillor who is responsible for a huge swatch of the county hereabouts, yet Luing evidently have four of these representatives at their beck and call (according to that fellow with the horns). Can someone explain this imbalance?

Both Seil & Easdale and Luing Community Council areas are covered by the same four elected ward members. It's just seems that some manage to turn up more regularly than others at certain meetings/events. Whether that's by availability or choice, who knows?

Any news on the saving of Luing school?
Have Luing CC allocated their community input from Mr Young to the school?
Is that why A & Bl decided to keep it open?
