Happy St Georges Day everyone
Must irk you a tad that you've got to share your patron saint with all those johnny foreigner types eh Pentlad?

Aragon, Catalonia, England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Palestine, Portugal, and Russia, as well as the cities of Amersfoort, Beirut, Ferrara, Freiburg, Genoa, Ljubljana, and Moscow, not to mention a whole host of of professions, organisations and disease sufferers

Surely - its about time Engerland should set its self apart by getting it's own unique Patron Saint?

Any suggestions?

Saint Becks?, Saint Eddie the Eagle, Saint Tony of Blair?, Saint Wayne?, Saint N'Greavsie?

Well, Erik I think we all must be very nice people being prepared to share so freely. And the Scots are no different as St Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland, Russia, Romania, Greece, Amalfi, and Luqa in Malta. He was also the patron saint of Prussia. I think Scotland has got its share of disease sufferers too!

White Van Man avoid potholes by driving on pavement

Whilst I appreciate youre probably only joking Teddy, I think it's important to intimate that driving on the pavement is, in fact, a driving offence, not to mention dangerous to pedestrians.

I had a brilliant driving instructor when I was 17. He told me it was OK to do anything, as long as it was safe to do so. I think he must be dead by now.

Sally, you're always always whinging about something, no wonder you don't get invited to things! Leave the white van man alone, I think people drive too slow on these roads...

I couldn't agree with canU more. There is a real knack in yomping your car from one hump to another and completely flying over the pothole in between. You have to judge the speed immaculately so that you land on the opposite side of the hump so that the car comes down on its springs reasonably gently without gouging the tarmac. Practice and you'll become a finely honed driver quick to spot the running rabbit or the sleepy sheep. Fast driving gets the adrenaline going, keeps you alert, sharpens the reactions. Makes you a better driver. My best time Ellenabeich phone box to Kilninver bridge 8 minutes 4 seconds.......at night. No white van needed

Penty, try taking the handbrake off next time. I've seen that peruvian bloke can go faster on his pushbike, mind you the polis were chasing at the time.(he's a bit of a troublemaker)

this time I have to agree with Penty

I had a Forces Driving instructor who taught me the main thing was not to hit anyone.Hence I still drive in the middle of the road at night not as Sally would sat because I`m irresponsiblle but more because you can see potholes easier and so far ive missed two or three drunks walking home at night wearing black jumpers and jeans if id been a "responsible"driver I could so easily have run over them

think i may have been one of them "drunks" u refer to, possibly on several occassions. but i can tell you now, that unless you relate "responsible" driving to driving on the verges beside the roads, then yes you would have hit them/me.

i am a responsible drinker/drunk, and especially if i happen to be wearing a black jacket, and blue denim jeans (instead of my usual orange combats and bright yellow t-shirt) i most certainly clear well off the road!! especially with the bloody drivers on our road!!!!!!!!!!

up yours teddy!!
