Nick - if your right about man-made global warming then your first main threat to our species will solve your second - so we're all right then! - or are we?

In the absense of concerted global action on emissions reduction only a massive dieback of the human species in the next 10-20 years would stabilise the climate within the +2 degree 'safe' limit. I don't think this is going to happen, and lets face it it is far from an ideal solution.oldgit wrote:Nick - if your right about man-made global warming then your first main threat to our species will solve your second - so we're all right then! - or are we?

Thanks for your reply MrB, even if the first line was a little cheeky !
I couldn't really understand your answer on globalwarming (too many long words ) so are you or are you not a globalwarming septic?
I don't advocate sending immigrants home (you may. Do you?) but I do totally agree that we must not let our population grow any more so we must stop it.
Was that a complaint?

I thought it was pretty obvious from my answer . . . I am not a global warming sceptic, far from it. And I was referring to the growing world population, not the population of the UK, which is a drop in an ocean of 6.8 billion (9.5 billlion by 2045-2050).Maggie wrote:Thanks for your reply MrB, even if the first line was a little cheeky !

The wording makes it clear though that this has no significance for the eventual approval or rejection of the windfarm itself.Pentlandpirate wrote:The Council have just notified me the 50 m mast is APPROVED

That's true. But it must be acknowledged as a step in the right direction for the developers

.
On the subject of planning - the next Community Council meeting is in four days time. This is likely to be the last one before planning goes in for the windfarm itself, so if any person or group wants the Community Council to represent their position(s) I guess they should probably make their views known before then or go along to the meeting on Tuesday.
