I can't imagine who would want to do this - there's no money in selling small amounts of petrol, and a lot of grief.

It would be very nice if the rumour is true though. Please don't be so discouraging, Nick!

Mainly posted this to see if my Avitar has a Yes in it! Hope so 'cause I'm a gal who almost always says yes. Plus it will be great to vote to become a normal country managing or mismanaging our own affairs. Whit - nae Yes? - Nick, please oblige!

Heard you're very accommodating Mona-talk of the WRI - welcome to the Clan.

Petrol on the island was always much dearer than in Oban . If that circumstance was overcome, well..............?

Yahoo! Thanks, Nick. Luv it.
And, once we're independent, we'll have petrol subsidies for rural communities! :D

So how does one get an avatar in the first place? Is this a pro independence site only?

Go to your user control panel (top rhs under the 'Forums' link on the menu). Click 'Profile' - a list of options drops down underneath. Click 'Avatar' then upload a picture from your computer. Maximum size is 120pixels x 120 pixels. There is also a small gallery you can choose from if you don't have a picture to upload.

And no, this is not a 'pro independence site only' - hopefully this will be one of the many forums (internet and otherwise) where the matter is discussed rationally and intelligently before the referendum two years from now. Some of us have however chosen to nail our colours publicly to the mast.

There's not much to discuss then is there? You're right and I'm wrong - or visa versa. If folk have nailed their colours to the mast already what's the point? If this is a pro SNP/Independence website I'm off...

This is exactly the same local news and discussion website it has always beeen. A few of the posters have chosen to show their enthusiasm for independence via their avatars. What exactly is your problem with that? Do you see any YES campaign livery or advertising anywhere on the site? Is it being pushed down your throat? I don't think so . . .

And being pro-Independence is not automatically equated with being pro-SNP . . . . the YES campaign is non-party, and what about Labour For Independence, or Women For Independence? And of course no-one is forcing you to participate in any political threads (which are in any event few and far between on Seil Chat - probably just as well).

Overall, I would say the political viewpoints of the moderators will have zero impact on your experience of the forum in any way. If you feel that strongly about the issue, why not create a 'Better Together' avatar?

I think this will put any supposed SNP bias on this forum, which, of course, there is none, in the shade.

Foxy, Min, all in good time for the main debate!!!!!!
