Slippery Salmond

Post by khartoumteddy »

Time for me to declare: Sorry He's a politician: I dont believe as a nation It would be in our best interests ,Vote UDI or whatever. I'm part Scots part English, part Irish, part Welsh.
Why split a perfectly good international heritage; and what actual good will it do, I feel its just a vote catching excercise on behalf of the Slippery Fish.

When e'er he swears that he has told the truth,
I don't believe him (if he speaks, he lies).
That he might think me some untutored youth,
Not skilled in politics, false forgeries.

Thus, vainly thinking that he thinks me wrong,
Although I know my years be past the best,
he smiling, with false-speak and fork-ed tongue,
Outfacing faults with everyman will rest.

But whyfore says this man that all are wrong?
And also my friend if I may be so bold?
Politics habit's in a soothing tongue,
A love of power, years of lies we're told.

Therefore you lie with love, for your country,
Since Salmond will not win a vote from me.

The gentleman referred to in this the nastposting has put forward a date for posing this question of some time late in 2014.
Now - even with the benefit of using both hands and feet to work out how many months will transpire until "make up mind" time ,I ran out of digits.
Given that the answer would appear to be in the region of 30+ months it is doubtful if debate on the subject could be sustained for that length of time, so nailing one's colours to the mast at this point in time, will have little effect on the eventual outcome.

Everyone has the right to think what they will, about anyone else and it seems to be the way of the world that politicians, media reporters, second hand car salesmen, lawyers, and estate agents, seem to get up people's noses more than binmen, postmen, butchers, bakers and candlestick makers (just to mention a few).
My point in my previous reply, was purely to state that the shenanigans connected with this referendum have only just started, and given the timescale, the big guns have to get their differencies ironed out before we, the punters, can consider what is on offer - and given the afore mentioned lawyers and politicians involved, this may take some considerable time, and provide a dripping roast to the above mentioned media reporters.
