Disposal of old cars

Post by EL TORO »

As from the 1st of January 2007 a law was passed that the vehicle manufacturer, is now responsible in the removal of the vehicle for being scrapped. the first vehicle from the Island was removed last week 8/2/07 and removal is free, all it needs is for you to log on to the govermant site listing the nearest disposal garage, and fill in the details.

This is the web site for the above, could any one having a removal please post with their views.

I wish we had that law here. It is amazing how people can just park one junk car after another on thier property. They buy a used car, drive it till it falls apart, park it in the field and go get another one. Endless cycle.

How many crofts around the Highlands are blighted by rusting heaps of cars and machinery? They almost add character to the place.
