Vodaphone initiative?

Vodaphone initiative?
My favourite topic! Is this programme something that would be appropriate to Seil or is our broadband not good enough? Nick, as one of our internet gurus, what do you think? Surely, it's time we had decent mobile coverage?!

Re: Vodaphone initiative?
Sounds good to me if we have the technical capability -an improved mobile phone coverage on the island would be beneficial to all particularly in the case of emergencies
Perhaps this scheme could be raised at the next community council meeting at the end of November?

An improved mobile phone coverage is very desirable and so is improved mobile broadband coverage, although the latter could be improved if those customers of BT broadband made their connections available as BT openzones. This would not compromise their broadband speed nor their broadband security since the openzone uses a separate channel.
Improved broadband access would be very beneficial to so many visitors who expect wi-fi access wherever they go.
I agree that the subject of mobile coverage should be raised at the upcoming community council meeting. I would also suggest that the Seil Community Hall and the Easdale Drill Hall should provide free wi-fi for visitors to use, especially as this facility could be provided at no extra cost.

I think Brodie's suggestion regarding Free WI FI access for visitors etc at the Seil Community Hall and Easdale Hall is worth further investigation and discussion
I am aware that there is a Community Council Meeting scheduled for this coming Tuesday (22nd November 2011)
Should this be tabled as an agenda item ?

Well done for trying, Snoman. No marks for the Community Council. Given the short timescale of the Vodaphone project, they had to be able to act and think on their feet and outside the box. Or, even if they insist on being over-formal, unimaginative and dull about their pre-fixed agenda, they should accept highly relevant and positive urgent proposals for Seil & Easdale under any other business. As there are some significant local landowners within their midst, maybe they should make recompense to the community now by offering Vodaphone some well-situated mobile phone mast sites.

Well done Spiderman
It looks like you have managed to spin your web on the community council !!!
Let's hope Vodafone might see our area as a trial for this community initiative

Well done to you too, Snoman. I think your efforts might have had something to do with it.
