.
Both the current Seilachan and the Community Council minutes from the last two meetings are now online.
On a related matter, the editor has pointed out to me that the 'e' in Seileachan (as in its banner) has been missing in all references on this site - but apparently I am not alone and others also miss out the 'e' when spelling the title. As the newsletter has been online since 1997 I am a little surprised that no-one has pointed this out before. It is a matter of moments to change the spelling if that is the general consensus - what do you think?

Re: Seilachan, Community Council minutes
The editor is not intent on having a popularity contest about how the title should be spelt.
It was an attempt to find out from an official Gaelic source what the correct title should be.
But considering the "Taigh" - "Tigh", "Mor" - "Mhor" variations etc, etc, it is doubtful if there is a correct spelling to anything in the Gaelic language.
Perhaps a plea for a ruling to that Sabhail? place in Skye might be in order.
Anyone out there willing to pontificate on the subject?
Personally, I prefer Seileachan (or however it is spelt) to Seil News, Seil Report, or, heaven forbid, The Seil Newsletter.

Re: Seilachan, Community Council minutes
This may all be a bit pointless.
194 people (well maybe only 190, given that I have checked up on it once or twice) have read the blurb, yet only 6 have bothered to expres their opinion on the subject when it came to register a vote. Is this an indication of the apathy of the Seil community in general, to get involved ? Perhaps the poll should have included the option - "don't care" or similar to express an indifference on being asked to give an opinion. Currently your Seileachan editor is left with only 6 people who have any interest on the subject. How to make a decision on the title spelling?
Suggestions please.

Re: Seilachan, Community Council minutes
If nobody knows the 'correct' spelling does it matter what anyone thinks? We can all use whatever suits. When/if the 'correct' spelling is authenticated...well, I'll use that one
