What on earth is the point of the white lines down the side of the road? They seem to be encouraging even more people than usual to drive in the middle of the highway.

I think they must be there to stop us driving at the edges and cracking bits of the nice new pebbly tarmac off into the ditches.
It looks like the line-drawers had fun with all the dotted bits at gateways and paths, and doing all that creative wriggly stuff. Somehow, a lot of the passing places have become smaller. Have you seen the wee one (before the big one) on Barnacarry hill? It's now very wee indeed!

It maybe the onset of middle age but to me the road now 'looks' much narrower.
Also, what it has done is made me realise how much of the road has been pinched over the years by the tar creep when the road has been improved(?)
- especially at my road end, have a look!
