'Ledaig' is the original name for Tobermory - has many meanings such as 'small slope' or 'flat place' but most likely to be of norse origin - 'small bay that is difficult to enter'

Tobermory comes from 'Tobar Mhoire' whic h translates as the 'well of Mary'.

..that'll be another pedant point

As for the Mull whiskies..I wouldn't even use them for cooking

Just as a matter of interest, has anyone tasted the Swedish whisky, Mackmyra, at all?

Teddy's original enquiry was for a good local distiller.

Having referred to 'Glen Seil' in another recent posting, and, given the anonimity available on this site, anybody out there prepared to admit to an odd sampling of the above named distillation in the dim and distant? :sigh :sigh

I understand it is now in mothballs - or even Moleigh - or even in the hills of Clachan awaiting rediscovery!!

....and before you ask the answer is yes - but I didn't inhale :!:  :D :beer

Slainte
I had a Schottische last night but I'm much better now thank you!
